Wing Village Web Site
Situated on a hilltop within the Aylesbury Vale area of outstanding
natural beauty between Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard, the
skyline of Wing is dominated by the Saxon Church. The village
also boasts the NT Ascott House, a Norman Motte, various medieval
and other earthworks, many old buildings, a nearby nature
reserve, and a comprehensive network of circular footpaths
radiating from the village. A range of good pubs, shops, sporting,
schooling and other facilities make Wing a desirable place
to both live and visit.
Cheddington Village Web Site
Cheddington is situated to the east of Aylesbury just south
of Mentmore. To the south-west lies the local landscape area
of West End Hill. Dating back to 1190, Saint Giles Church
is situated to the east of the village and is surrounded by
apple and plum trees. The village has a railway station with
a half-hourly service to London Euston. Cheddington County
Combined School is recognised as one of the best in the county.
The village has two excellent pubs, a modern village hall,
and a range of recreation and sports facilities. A good network
of footpaths and bridleways serve the village including two
circular walks and the Two Ridges Link.
