Shopping in Aylesbury Town Centre

The town centre boasts two main shopping centres Friars Square and Hale Leys, which are both under cover and make shopping in poor weather a brighter experience. Both offer many well known high street retailers, and one end of Friars Square is dominated by Beatties department store. The centres also have specialist, independent shops, including a range of traders at the Cloisters Indoor Market in the lower mall of Friars Square.

Other good hunting grounds for good quality and reasonably priced goods are the High Street, Bourbon Street, Kingsbury, Buckingham Street and Cambridge Street, all of which are within easy walking distance of the Market Square. The square itself plays host to a traditional open-air markets and other events, with antiques, and bric-a-brac on Tuesdays and a general market every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Continental markets are held bi-annually, and monthly Farmers' Markets are held every forth Tuesday.
